At the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, Elvis hosted The Elvis Mitchell Suite presented by Darling&Co, an intimate lounge on Park City’s Main Street that drew the festival’s biggest names for unscripted, candid conversations.

Elvis Mitchell is an American film critic, host of KCRW’s The Treatment since 1996, visiting lecturer at Harvard University, and director of Is That Black Enough For You?!?. He has served as film critic for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram (1999 AASFE Award for Criticism), the LA Weekly, the Detroit Free Press, and The New York Times (2000–2004).

In 2002 he delivered the prestigious Alain Locke Lectures on African American culture at Harvard, where he subsequently served as visiting lecturer in Visual & Environmental Studies and African American Studies. He became Film Independent at LACMA curator in July 2011, and Film Scholar at UNLV in Fall 2012.
